1. Introduction
Recepify ("we", "our", "us") is a receipt scanning, expense tracking, and warranty management app developed by Muhammet Melik Özbay. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our iOS application.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of data to provide our services:
- Receipt Images & Data: Photos of receipts you scan, and extracted information such as store names, item names, prices, tax amounts, and totals. This data is stored on our secure servers to enable syncing and backup.
- Warranty Information: Product names, purchase dates, and expiry dates you enter for warranty tracking.
- Device Identifier: A randomly generated anonymous identifier stored locally on your device to associate your data. We do not collect your Apple ID, name, email, or phone number.
- Subscription Status: Your subscription tier (free or Pro) is managed by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive only entitlement status, not payment details.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identity information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Contacts or address book
- Browsing or search history
- Health or fitness data
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- Analytics or crash reporting data
4. How We Use Your Information
- To scan, extract, and store receipt data for your personal use
- To provide AI-powered spending insights and categorization
- To track product warranties and send expiry reminders
- To sync your data across sessions on the same device
- To export your data as CSV or PDF at your request
5. AI Processing
When you scan a receipt, the image or extracted text may be sent to our secure server for AI-powered data extraction. This processing is performed via Anthropic's Claude API through our Supabase Edge Function. The AI processes your data in real-time and does not store or retain your information beyond the immediate request.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Supabase, a secure cloud platform with enterprise-grade encryption. All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. Receipt images are stored in private, encrypted cloud storage accessible only with your device identifier.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Your data is only shared with:
- Supabase: Cloud database and storage provider (data hosting)
- Anthropic: AI processing for receipt extraction (transient, not stored)
- RevenueCat: Subscription management (anonymous identifier only)
- Apple: In-app purchase processing (managed by Apple)
8. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained as long as you use the app. You can delete all your data at any time from Settings → "Delete All Data". This permanently removes all receipts, warranty records, and images from our servers. Uninstalling the app will also disassociate your device from the stored data.
9. Children's Privacy
Recepify is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through our app, please contact us for immediate deletion.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data (visible within the app)
- Export your data (CSV/PDF export feature)
- Delete your data (Settings → Delete All Data)
- Opt out of AI processing (use Manual Entry instead of scanning)
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
